Regular Season Round 31: Toyoda Gosei - Koshigaya A. 102-97

An interesting game for Toyoda Gosei (19-5) which hosted in Aichi their biggest opponent Koshigaya A. (18-6). Third ranked Toyoda Gosei managed to get a 5-point victory 102-97. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was an exceptional evening for American-Irish Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Eiji Sumihiro (171-89) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Koshigaya A.'s coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Toyoda Gosei have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Loser Koshigaya A. dropped to the third position with six games lost. Toyoda Gosei will meet league's leader Tokyo Excel. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
