Everything went according to plan when third ranked Viola RC (15-5) defeated 12th ranked Palermo GB (6-14) in Reggio Calabria 85-67 on Sunday. Palermo GB was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Yande Fall (203-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Matteo Fallucca (196-93) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Guard Andrea Lombardo (197-90) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Giuseppe Caronna (206-94) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Palermo GB. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Viola RC maintains third position in B with 15-5 record having just three points less than leader Deco Caserta. Loser Palermo GB keeps the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Viola RC will face Catania Alfa (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Palermo GB will play against Olimpia Matera and hope to win that game.
