There was a minor upset when their close opponent Shiga L-Stars (8-30) were defeated at home by sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (10-28) 78-63. Hokkaido L. players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Spanish center David Doblas (206-81) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) supported him with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. maintains sixth position with 10-28 record, which they share with Yokohama BC. Shiga L-Stars at the other side keep the sixth place with 30 games lost.
