It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Real Madrid. Real Madrid was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Jaime Fernandez (186-93) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Unicaja Malaga players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (181-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international Rudy Fernandez (197-85) added 25 points in the effort for Real Madrid. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tenerife and Valencia. Defending champion Real Madrid keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Baskonia. Unicaja Malaga will play against La ICL Manresa (#7) at home in the next round. Real Madrid will play against Baskonia (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
