Important game to mention about took place in Kyoto. Third ranked Kyoto Hannar. (21-17) saved a 3-point victory at home edging second-ranked Toshiba Thunders (22-16) 88-85 in the game for the second place. Strangely Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Kyoto Hannar. 33-20. American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 23 points and 7 assists for the winners. International power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) replied with 23 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Toshiba Thunders' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kyoto Hannar. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Toshiba Thunders at the other side keep the second position with 16 games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will play against league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toshiba Thunders will play at home against San-en NeoPhoenix and hope to get back on the winning track.
