Regular Season Round 19: Ardoi - Solares 84-76

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Ardoi (13-2) defeated 13th ranked Solares (2-13) in Zizur Mayor 84-76 on Sunday. Solares was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Pope Urtasun (187-80) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American power forward RJ Freeman (205-95, college: Pikeville) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import swingman James Pegues (198-93, college: Newman) added 23 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Solares. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ardoi maintains second place in Group A-A with 13-2 record having just three points less than leader Algeciras. Newly promoted Solares dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Ardoi will face Gallofa (#5) in Santander in the next round. Solares will play at home against Easo (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
