No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Mondragon (10-5) beat at home 10th ranked Univ.Valladolid (4-11) 86-74 on Sunday. They outrebounded Univ.Valladolid 45-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. Mondragon looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Univ.Valladolid was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for power forward Martin Buesa (204-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Simion Mancebo (200-94) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-94) answered with 7 points and 9 rebounds and Javier Martinez (187-97) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Univ.Valladolid. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mondragon moved-up to fifth place in Group A-A, which they share with Gallofa. Univ.Valladolid lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Mondragon will face La Fecha (#9) in Arroyo Encomienda in the next round.
