The game in Pau was also quite interesting. Third ranked Dijon (16-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (10-9). Dijon managed to secure a 8-point victory 78-70 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Dijon forced 25 Pau-Lacq-Orthez turnovers. Strangely Pau-Lacq-Orthez outrebounded Dijon 54-26 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Damien Archinard (196-98) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Gary Berchel (203-98) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Thibault Daval-Braquet (210-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Hugo Pellure (182-99) scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Dijon and four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Dijon. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bourg. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Chalon. Dijon will meet at home Nanterre (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Chalon (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
