Regular Season Round 19: Manresa - Valencia 75-66

An interesting game where host La ICL Manresa (#8) won against 4th placed Valencia Basket 75-66 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Valencia Basket. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valencia Basket won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when La ICL Manresa won last quarter 27-20. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American-Georgian point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points (made all of his seven free throws). American guard Ryan Toolson (193-85, college: Utah Valley) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 16 points and American guard Matt Thomas (196-94, college: Iowa St.) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. La ICL Manresa (11-8) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Valencia Basket keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Tenerife and Unicaja. La ICL Manresa will meet higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valencia Basket will play against Blusens Monbus and hope to secure a win.
