Regular Season Round 2: MBG - Tbilisi 95-81

Rather expected game when Tbilisi (0-2) was defeated on the road by MBG (2-0) 95-81. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when MBG's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-16 extending their advantage to 14 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tbilisi's 42. American guard Deontae North (193-96, college: Portland St., agency: Two Points) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and power forward Irakli Alkhanaidze (202-92) supported him with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by guard Aleksandre Megeneishvili (188-93) did not help to save the game for Tbilisi. Forward Vasil Beruashvili (198-90) added 12 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tbilisi's coach Nugzar Cheishvili rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBG will play against Arena-Orbi (#4) in Tbilisi in the next round. Tbilisi will play against Vera to get more than just one victory in their record.
