Regular Season Round 19: Gravelines - Chalon 66-91

An interesting game took place in Gravelines where 4th placed Gravelines-Dunkerque (11-8) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked Chalon/Saor (9-10) 91-66. Chalon/Saor shot 23 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Gravelines-Dunkerque only scored two points from the stripe. They outrebounded Gravelines-Dunkerque 40-23 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Chalon/Saor especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Gravelines-Dunkerque helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian-Spanish power forward Juan Palacios (206-85) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. American point guard Justin Robinson (174-95, college: Monmouth) contributed with 17 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach Jean-Denys Choulet felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) answered with 12 points and 9 assists and the other American import guard Karvel Anderson (188-91, college: Robert Morris) added 13 points in the effort for Gravelines-Dunkerque. Chalon/Saor moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Le Mans. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Chalon/Saor's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Pau-Lacq-Orthez at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Le Portel and hope to win that game.
