There was no surprise in Arrecife where 13th ranked Aridane (7-12) was defeated by tenth ranked Lanzarote (9-10) 79-69 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Javier Herreros (198-94) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds and guard Acoydan McCarthy (197-99) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (207-92, college: Arkansas St.) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Eudaldo Gonzalez (193-93) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aridane's coach Carlos Garcia rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lanzarote have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in Group B. Newly promoted Aridane keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Lanzarote will face higher ranked Quintanar (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aridane will play against the league's second-placed Real Madrid II (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
