Regular Season Round 13: Giants - Stingers 99-89

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Nassau: Giants (#1) and Stingers (#2). Giants (11-0) won against visiting Stingers (10-3) 99-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Stingers. Giants made 46-of-52 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game, while Stingers only scored twenty five points from the stripe. Giants forced 22 Stingers turnovers. The former international guard DShon Taylor (196-93, college: Norfolk St.) fired 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Gameliel Rose chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. The former international power forward Eugene Bain (195-88, college: Bellevue) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard Abel Joseph (200-90, college: Holland) added 17 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Giants have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. Loser Stingers keep the second position with three games lost. Giants' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nassau to the arena Pros.
