Regular Season Round 21: Navarra - Aquimisa LZ 73-80

Date: February 9, 2019
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Navarra (14-7) in Pamplona on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Zamorano (13-8) 80-73. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in Silver. It was a good game for American-Italian point guard Anthony Libroia (180-94, college: Adelphi) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Zamorano players scored in double figures. Center Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca (212-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Carles Marzo (190-92, agency: Duran International) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Navarra. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zamorano moved-up to second place in Silver. Navarra at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Zamorano are looking forward to face Plasencia (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Navarra will play against Azpeitia ISB (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
