Regular Season Round 19: Milano - Albino 51-85

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Milano (7-12) was crushed at home by eleventh ranked Albino (7-11) 85-51 on Saturday. Albino dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Milano's 26. It was a great evening for Bosnian Melisa Brcaninovic (190-99, agency: BeoBasket) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Federica Iannucci (172-93) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Spanish forward Maria Royo (178-86) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Elena Quaroni (170-98) scored 12 points. Milano's coach Franz Pinotti gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Albino moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Milano dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Albino will face higher ranked Costa Masnaga (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Milano will play against the league's second-placed Alpo VF (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
