Regular Season Round 21: Hitachi Cougars - Fujitsu RW 69-98

Very expected game in Hitachinaka where 9th ranked Hitachi Cougars (8-13) were crushed by fifth ranked Fujitsu RW (14-7) 98-69 on Saturday. Fujitsu RW forced 20 Hitachi Cougars turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Fujitsu RW looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was international point guard Rui Machida (162-93) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 assists. Forward Chikae Uchino (176-93) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Aya Tsurumi (165-92) who recorded 16 points and guard Yuki Kitamura (172-94) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fujitsu RW. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Denso Iris. Loser Hitachi Cougars dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Haneda Vickies. Fujitsu RW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitachi Cougars will play again against Fujitsu RW (#5) and hope to secure a win.
