Regular Season Round 21: Vic - Girona Basquet 83-73

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Vic (6-15) beat at home 4th placed Girona Basquet (13-9) 83-73 on Saturday. Vic made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for point guard Julian Garrote (185-82) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 7 assists. Power forward Samuel Dominguez (204-91, college: La Palma) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Vic players scored in double figures. Forward Jordi Trias (208-80) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and American center Andre Berry (203-95, college: Rhode Island) added 12 points in the effort for Girona Basquet. Girona Basquet's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vic moved-up to eleventh place in Silver. Girona Basquet at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Vic will face higher ranked Menorca (#8) in Mahon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Girona Basquet will play at home against the league's second-placed Real Murcia where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
