Regular Season Round 13: Niki Lefkadas - Kalyvion 79-49

The game in Lefkadas supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th placed Kalyvion (7-6) played at the court of fifth ranked Niki Lefkadas (7-6). Niki Lefkadas smashed Kalyvion 79-49 on Saturday. Niki Lefkadas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kalyvion's 34. They outrebounded Kalyvion 41-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Whitney Knight (190-93, college: FGCU) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners (made all of her seven free throws). Guard Anthoula Balta (174-87) chipped in 4 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward GMrice Davis (189-96, college: Fordham) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard AJ Alix (168-95, college: Florida St.) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Niki Lefkadas. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dafni Agioy and Kalyvion. Niki Lefkadas will face Proteas (#9) in Voula in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kalyvion will play on the road against Iraklis (#12) in Thessaloniki and hope to win that game.
