Regular Season Round 21: Olginate - Faenza 52-61

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Faenza (14-7) defeated on the road 12th ranked Olginate (8-13) 61-52 on Saturday. Olginate was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Gioacchino Chiappelli (198-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and point guard Mattia Venucci (188-90) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Gaetano Spera (210-93, college: St.Peter's, agency: Octagon Europe) with 6 points and 12 rebounds and Edoardo Caversazio (200-96) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Olginate's coach Massimo Meneguzzo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Faenza moved-up to third place, which they share with Orzinuovi and Urania Milano. Loser Olginate dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Faenza will face Desio (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Olginate will play against Orzinuovi (#3) and hope to win that game.
