Regular Season Round 19: Moncalieri - Marghera 51-35

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Marghera (7-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Moncalieri (13-6) 51-35 on Saturday. Moncalieri held Marghera to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Moncalieri forced 20 Marghera turnovers and outrebounded them 46-23 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for German forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Ilenia Cordola (183-96) helped adding 6 points and 11 rebounds. Moncalieri's coach Paolo Terzolo used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Sara Toffolo (184-0) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Elena Giordano (-2) scored 9 points. Newly promoted Moncalieri maintains fifth place in A2 with 13-6 record. Loser Marghera keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Moncalieri will face Udine (#6) on the road in the next round. Marghera will play against Ponzano and hope to win that game.
