There was no surprise in San Martino di L where 13th ranked San Martino (6-13) was defeated by seventh ranked Vicenza (10-8) 57-39 on Saturday. Vicenza forced 29 San Martino turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Valentina Stoppa (174-85) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 6 assists. Forward Lucia Ferri (183-90) helped adding 9 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side center Beatrice Baldi (185-0) responded with 9 points and 11 rebounds and guard Claudia Amabiglia (172-98) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vicenza maintains seventh place in A2 with 10-8 record. Loser San Martino keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Vicenza will face Carugate (#12) in Corugate in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. San Martino will play on the road against Scrivia and hope to win that game.
