There was no surprise when 9th ranked Leuven Bears (3-10) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (9-7) 75-71. Belfius Mons-Hainaut made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Leuven Bears were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Mike Smith (198-87, college: E.Tenn.St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. The other American import guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Senegalese Ibrahima Faye (207-97) replied with 12 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Seppe Despalier (194-99) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Leuven Bears.
