No shocking result in a game when Brest (7-12) beat at home GOCOR-Sozh (2-17) 74-58. The game was mostly controlled by Brest. GOCOR-Sozh was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brest forced 19 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Power forward Kirill Vinokurov (207-99) fired 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Brest's coach Alexandr Fedorchyk used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Swingman Evgeniy Ribkin (195-96) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Aleksey Kovalev (207-0) added 24 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Brest's next round opponent will be Impuls BGUIR (#6) in Minsk and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GOCOR-Sozh will play at home against RCOP Tsmoki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
