Everything went according to plan in Civitanova Marche where ninth ranked Civitanova (10-7) outscored 12th ranked Roma Athena (5-14) 59-39 on Sunday. Civitanova forced 23 Roma Athena turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Alessandra Orsili (167-1) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Veronica Perini (175-88) helped adding 22 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Eleonora Piacentini (-97) responded with 13 points and Gaia Cirotti (-97) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Roma Athena's coach Francesco Goccia rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Civitanova moved-up to eighth place in A2. Newly promoted Roma Athena keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Civitanova will face higher ranked San Salvatore (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Roma Athena will play against San Giovanni (#9) and hope to win that game.
