Regular Season Round 19: Spezzina - Pistoia 60-36

There was no surprise in La Spezia where 11th ranked Pistoia (6-13) was outplayed by third ranked Spezzina (15-4) 60-36 on Sunday. Spezzina held Pistoia to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Spezzina forced 24 Pistoia turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Elisabetta Linguaglossa (185-87) who led her team to a victory scoring 11 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Chiara Cadoni (185-94) helped adding 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side power forward Serena Bona (181-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and guard Martina Luciani (172-93) scored 8 points. Pistoia's coach Stefano Tommei gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Spezzina moved-up to second place in A2. Newly promoted Pistoia keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Spezzina will face Faenza (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Pistoia will play against Forli (#16) and hope to win that game.
