There was an upset when higher ranked Roma Luiss (13-7) were defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Valmontone (6-13) 81-69 on Sunday. Roma Luiss were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and Eric Ruiu (200-97, agency: Players Group) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Valmontone players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Francesco Infante (202-92) with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Leonardo Marcon (190-95, agency: Players Group) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Valmontone moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Teramo. Loser Roma Luiss keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Valmontone will face league's leader Deco in Caserta in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
