There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Campli (0-20) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Giulianova (9-11) 90-76 on Sunday. Campli was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Alessandro Azzaro (202-93) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and swingman Simone Angelucci (198-98) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Giulianova players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin swingman Danilo Raicevic (195-99) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Valerio Miglio (190-98) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Giulianova moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Nardo. Campli lost their twentieth game in a row. They still close the standings with 20 games lost. Giulianova will face higher ranked Senigallia (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Campli will play against the league's second-placed Chieti (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
