Regular Season Round 13: Sporting - PAOK 54-55

Ninth-ranked Sporting (5-8) made lots of trouble for second ranked PAOK (10-3) in Athens on Sunday. The visitors from Thessaloniki managed to secure only one-point victory 55-54. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sporting. American Jessica Jackson (192-95, college: Arkansas) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Lolita Lymoura (180-85) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Ariana Moorer (172-91, college: Virginia) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists and international center Styliani Fouraki (188-94) added 22 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. PAOK have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader Olympiacos. Newly promoted Sporting dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. PAOK are looking forward to face Esperides (#3) in Glyfada in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
