An interesting game for Real Madrid (15-5) which hosted in Madrid one of their biggest challengers Baskonia (14-6). Second ranked Real Madrid managed to get a 6-point victory 82-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Baskonia. Baskonia was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Baskonia was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Slovenian Anthony Randolph (211-89, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and Mexican center Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St.) who added 8 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Real Madrid's coach Pablo Laso allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Argentinian guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) responded with 11 points and 8 assists and French center Vincent Poirier (210-93) scored 12 points. Five Baskonia players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second position with 15-5 record having just two points less than leader FC Barcelona. Baskonia at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Real Madrid will play against Andorra (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baskonia will play against Unicaja Malaga (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
