Regular Season Round 23: Kotwica - Polfarmex Kutno 102-80

There was a minor upset in Kolobrzeg where 12th ranked Polfarmex (8-15) was crushed by fourteenth ranked Kotwica (8-14) 102-80 on Wednesday. Kotwica dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Polfarmex's 30. They outrebounded Polfarmex 31-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Kotwica especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was a great evening for Jakub Zalewski (184-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Patryk Przyborowski (195-90, agency: Promotex) helped adding 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Patryk Gospodarek (184-94, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 19 points and guard Bartosz Majewski (190-97) scored 14 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kotwica moved-up to thirteenth place. Polfarmex lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Kotwica will face higher ranked Pruszkow (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Polfarmex will play against Pogon Prudnik (#10) and hope to win that game.
