Regular Season Round 10: Olimpi - Cactus Tbilisi 89-95

We should mention about the upset which took place in Tbilisi, where higher ranked Olimpi (5-5) lost at home to ninth ranked Cactus Tbilisi (3-7) 89-95. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Olimpi. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 27-16 Olimpi's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 95-89 at the end of the game. Cactus Tbilisi players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American guard Delano Spencer (190-94, college: Tennessee St.) notched 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Nickolas Neal (183-88, college: Purdue-NCent.) supported him with 27 points and 11 assists. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Cactus Tbilisi players scored in double figures. Even 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by the former international guard Revaz Rogava (192-93) did not help to save the game for Olimpi. American point guard Tre Bennett (178-92, college: Angelo St.) added 23 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Cactus Tbilisi moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Batumi. Olimpi at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Cactus Tbilisi's next round opponent will be Batumi (#8) at home.
