Regular Season Round 21: B.Cearense - Sao Jose 76-86
Date: February 13, 2019
There was no surprise in Aldeota where 11th ranked SKY/Basquete (7-15) was defeated by seventh ranked Sao Jose (8-12) 86-76 on Wednesday. Sao Jose made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Douglas Nunes (208-87) who scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Andre Coimbra (206-86, college: Cent.Michigan) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four Sao Jose players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Italian point guard Paulinho Boracini (183-84) who recorded 28 points and center Douglas Kurtz (213-87, college: Hawaii) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Sao Jose went down to eighth position due to points difference. Loser SKY/Basquete keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Sao Jose will face Vasco Da G. (#13) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SKY/Basquete will play at home against Joinville and hope to win that game.
