Everything went according to plan in Vimpeli where third ranked Peli-Karhut (14-7) outscored 9th ranked ViVe (8-15) 103-73 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Peli-Karhut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. American-Cameroonian center Brittany Starling (183-94, college: USC Upstate) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Brooke McCarty (163-95, college: Texas) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Amy Griffin (183-96, college: La Salle, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import swingman Donnaizha Fountain (183-95, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. ViVe's coach Jarkko Havu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Espoo Team. ViVe lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. Peli-Karhut will face league's second-placed Espoo Team at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ViVe will play against Catz Lappeenranta (#5) and hope to win that game.
