Regular Season Round 41: Huracanes - Mineros 87-89

Seventh-ranked Huracanes (6-32) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Mineros (29-10) in Tampico on Friday. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 89-87. However their fans expected much easier game. American-Puerto Rican point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) nailed 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American forward Nick Harney (203-92, college: Fairmont St.) accounted for 22 points and 4 assists. Naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) came up with 29 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) added 9 points and 18 rebounds respectively for Huracanes in the defeat. Mineros have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 29-10 record behind leader Soles. Huracanes lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh position with 32 games lost. Mineros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Huracanes will play again against the league's second-placed Mineros (#2) and hope to secure a win.
