D1 top team - Thor AK (14-3) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they beat eighth ranked Sindri (1-17) 99-81. The game without a history. Thor AK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Thor AK outrebounded Sindri 47-29 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: Birm.Southern) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Palmi Jonsson (196-93) accounted for 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Slovenian point guard Matic Macek (188-94) came up with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Serbian Ivan Kekic (-97) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Sindri in the defeat. Four Sindri players scored in double figures. Thor AK maintains first place with 14-3 record. Sindri lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 17 lost games. Thor AK will meet at home Hottur (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sindri will have a break next round.
