Regular Season Round 29: Seagulls - Kauhajoki 72-74

Eighth-ranked Helsinki Seagulls (10-18) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Kauhajoki (19-9) on Friday. The visitors from Kauhajoki managed to secure only two-point victory 74-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 30-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American swingman Alex Ruoff (198-86, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Helsinki Seagulls. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 19-9 record having five points less than leader Vilpas. Helsinki Seagulls lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Kobrat. Kauhajoki are looking forward to face Joensuun Kataja (#5) at home in the next round. Helsinki Seagulls will play against BC Nokia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
