Regular Season Round 40: Kumamoto V. - Kanazawa Sam. 77-85

The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Kanazawa Sam. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Kanazawa Sam. defeated much higher ranked Kumamoto V. on the road 85-77. Kanazawa Sam. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) fired a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 18-of-23 shooting from the field) for the winners. Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) added 28 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Ehime OV. Kumamoto V. at the other side still keeps top place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Shimane SM. Kumamoto V. will play next round against strong Kanazawa Sam. trying to get back on the winning streak. Kanazawa Sam. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
