Regular Season Round 40: Aomori Watts - Gunma 92-96

Very expected game when 6th ranked Aomori Watts (12-29) were defeated at home by first ranked Gunma (30-11) 96-92 on Saturday. Gunma forced 21 Aomori Watts turnovers. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) fired 43 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. Gunma's coach Fujitaka Hiraoka used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Cullen Russo (206-94, college: Fresno St.) produced a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 23 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Toshio Kan (184-94) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Gunma maintains first position with 30-11 record. Loser Aomori Watts keep the sixth place with 29 games lost. Gunma will have a break next round. Aomori Watts will play again at home against the league's leader Gunma (#1) and hope to win that game.
