Regular Season Round 17: Tralee - Killester 71-55

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Killester (10-6) against fourth ranked Tralee (10-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Killester was defeated by Tralee in Tralee 71-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Killester. Tralee forced 19 Killester turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international guard Paul Dick (193-91, college: Franklin Pierce) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Eoin Quigley contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Royce Williams (196, college: Ft.Hays State) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and international point guard Ciaran Roe (170-93) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for Killester. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Killester at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Tralee will play against league's second-placed Belfast Star on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Killester will play against Moycullen in Galway and hopes to get back on the winning track.
