Regular Season Round 24: Feurs EF - Boulogne 42-75

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Feurs EF (11-14) was crushed at home by third ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (16-8) 75-42 on Saturday. SO Maritime Boulogne dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Feurs EF's 26. SO Maritime Boulogne looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Naturalized Algerian Mehdi Cheriet (204-87, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). SO Maritime Boulogne's coach Frederic Brouillaud felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Theo Vial (198-92) who recorded 6 points and 10 rebounds and Senegalese power forward Madiop Ndiaye (208-95) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. SO Maritime Boulogne have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group A with 16-8 record having just one point less than leader Challans. Newly promoted Feurs EF keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. SO Maritime Boulogne will face Saint Vallier (#4) on the road in the next round. Feurs EF will play against Kaysersberg and hope to win that game.
