Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Lima-Horta (10-8) defeated on the road 10th ranked Mataro Parc (6-12) 68-54 on Saturday. Strangely Mataro Parc outrebounded Lima-Horta 48-31 including 36 on the defensive glass. Guard Vanesa Verbo (174-94) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Eliana Soriano (176-89) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Lima-Horta's coach Sergio Manzano used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Olga Ruano (191-88) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Judy Jones (175-90, college: Grand Canyon) scored 8 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Lima-Horta have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group A. Mataro Parc lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Lima-Horta will face league's leader Real Celta Vigo at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mataro Parc will play against ADBA (#12) in Aviles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
