Regular Season Round 24: GKS Tychy - Gornik Walbrzych 88-87

The most exciting game of round 24 in the 1Liga took place in Tychy. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Gornik (12-12) to sixth ranked GKS Tychy (14-10) 88-87 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Pawel Zmarlak (195-82, agency: Promotex) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Michal Jankowski (191-87) chipped in 16 points. Five GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Gornik dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Pruszkow and STK Czarni. GKS Tychy is looking forward to face Biofarm PZN (#11) in Poznan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gornik will play at home against SKK Siedlce (#16) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
