There was no surprise in Los Llanos where 13th ranked Aridane (7-13) was defeated by second ranked Real Madrid II (16-4) 100-85 on Saturday. Real Madrid II dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Aridane's 44. They outrebounded Aridane 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Usman Garuba (202-2) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Jorge Mejias (186-1) chipped in 20 points. Five Real Madrid II players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Corey Raley-Ross (191-91, college: Buffalo) who recorded 23 points and 4 assists and Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (207-92, college: Arkansas St.) added 25 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Real Madrid II. They maintain second place in Group B with 16-4 record having just two point less than leader Algeciras. Newly promoted Aridane keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost.
