Regular Season Round 22: Pleszew - Slask 2 Wroclaw 80-81

Very expected game when 10th ranked Pleszew (7-13) was edged at home by fifth ranked Slask 2 Wroclaw (14-6) 81-80 on Saturday. Slask 2 Wroclaw outrebounded Pleszew 50-32 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Pleszew was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard Jan Malesa (187-99) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Power forward Szymon Tomczak (201-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Four Slask 2 Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Mikolaj Spala (189-93) replied with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Mikolaj Serbakowski (184-96) added 19 points in the effort for Pleszew. Slask 2 Wroclaw have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Koscian. Pleszew lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Slask 2 Wroclaw will face league's leader AZS PO in Opole in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pleszew will play on the road against Klodzko (#5) and hope to win that game.
