A very interesting game took place in Athens. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Sporting (5-9) to eighth ranked Eleutheria M. (7-7) 62-59 on Sunday evening. Eleutheria M. made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Faith Randolph (178, college: Virginia) who scored 27 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). The other American import center Cassie Rochel (194-91, college: Wisconsin) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Ariana Moorer (172-91, college: Virginia) produced 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American-Bahrain power forward Brittany Lewis (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech) added 15 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Sporting players scored in double figures. Eleutheria M. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Sporting at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Eleutheria M.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Esperides (#3) in Glyfada and it may be quite challenging game.
