Regular Season Round 18: Eilat - H.Jerusalem 70-82

An interesting game for Hapoel Jerusalem (13-5) which played road game in Eilat against one of their biggest challengers Hapoel Eilat (11-7). Third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem managed to get a 12-point victory 82-70. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-70. Hapoel Jerusalem looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American forward Tashawn Thomas (203-93, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international forward Lior Eliyahu (205-85) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Elijah Bryant (196-95, college: BYU, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Cameroonian-American forward JP Tokoto (198-93, college: N.Carolina) added 4 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Hapoel Eilat. Five Hapoel Jerusalem and four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Jerusalem maintains third position with 13-5 record behind leader Holon. Hapoel Eilat at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem are looking forward to face Beer Sheva (#6) at home in the next round. Hapoel Eilat will play against Ironi Nahariya and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
