The game in Tampico supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Mineros (30-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Huracanes (6-33). Mineros smashed Huracanes 108-86 on Sunday. Mineros dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Huracanes' 32. They outrebounded Huracanes 44-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Serbian-Montenegrin forward Nikola Dragovic (206-87, college: UCLA, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Jordan Williams (198-92, college: N.Texas) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Mineros' coach Manuel Cintron felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) who recorded 29 points and 8 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Jamaal Samuel (206-93, college: La-Monroe) added 25 points and 8 rebounds respectively.
