No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Maccabi Ashdod (7-11) crushed at home 11th ranked Ironi Nahariya (5-12) 93-74 on Sunday. Maccabi Ashdod looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 assists and 5 steals. American guard Jake Pemberton (193-96, college: Denver) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. American forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international Dagan Yavzuri (193-85) added 15 points in the effort for Ironi Nahariya. Ironi Nahariya's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Maccabi Ashdod moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Galil Gilboa and H.Tel-Aviv. Loser Ironi Nahariya keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will face Galil Gilboa (#8) in Rosh Pina in the next round. Ironi Nahariya will play at home against the league's second-placed Maccabi T-A where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
