Bottom-ranked Orebro (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 113-60 loss to sixth ranked Kalmar (7-8) in Kalmar on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Kalmar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Orebro's 42 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game, while Orebro only scored three points from the stripe. Kalmar forced 22 Orebro turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Orebro's players. Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-89) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 20 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners and American forward Mike McDevitt (203, college: Franklin Pierce) chipped in 44 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Kalmar's coach Peter Engstrom felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian guard Aleksa Simovic (190-86) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Stefan Beck (-98) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kalmar. Newly promoted Kalmar maintains sixth place with 7-8 record. Orebro lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 12 games lost. They share the position with Sundsvall.
