Regular Season Round 35: Gifu Swoops - Iwate Big Bulls 84-65

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (5-23) were smashed on the road by seventh ranked Gifu Swoops (12-16) 84-65. Gifu Swoops had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Canadian center Michael Allison (206-90, college: Maine) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Ito Ryota helped adding 20 points and 8 rebounds. Four Gifu Swoops players scored in double figures. American Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gifu Swoops. Newly promoted Gifu Swoops maintains seventh place with 12-16 record. Iwate Big Bulls at the other side keep the ninth position with 23 games lost. Gifu Swoops will play against higher ranked Koshigaya A. (#3) in Tokyo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Iwate Big Bulls will play at home against Aisin AW (#4) and hope to get back on the winning track.
